When I check the df heater on this thing with the meter (digital) set on continuity ( sound), I get no sound, but it does shows 035.

When I set it on 200, it shows 35.4.
When I got no sound, I thought the element was bad, but the o35 and the 35.4 is throwing me off. THat and the only ice was on the floor of the freezer compartment and the drasin hole not letting it drain. The coils looked okay.

I read that a reading from 0 to 50 ohms was indication the element was good. If this so, why do I get no sound when I set the meter on sound?

I used to use an anolog meter mostly set on sound or 1X. Digital seems to me a little different.

Anyway it seems if the hheater is bad, or the stat, the coils would be frozen up.

P.S. Anyone know where the timer is on this thing? I have not found it. Or does it have a board?

yeah, you could use a tic tac. To answer your question, your meter will only make the audible beep when it measures continuity or a very low amount of resistance. Since you are measuring 35 ohms it will not make the beeping or whatever it does.
your element is good if you are measuring 35 ohms.
now go shower.

What? This is only Tuesday!

I had found my answer, but thanks for the response.
It threw me off as I had never noticed this before. Unless there was a break in whatever I was checking, I always expected the audible sound.

Audible sound/tone = better term than beep.
