dragging sound while in motion

frumdogg Newbie   Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: Ohio Posts: 12	dragging sound while in motion Hi, I have a 2007 Mazda 6 with 85,000 miles. Today when I put it in reverse it made a dragging sound (similar to muffler rubbing ground). The same sound was made going forward. Upon observation, nothing was dragging on the ground. Has anyone had any type of problem like this occur? TIA

Ethier rusty disc from sitting, or worn pads which need replacing. I would narrow it down to a side and pull the wheel.

DexterII Member   Join Date: Jul 2010 Posts: 1,548	dragging sound while in motion Quite possibly a splash guard around one of the rotors. Depending on the type of wheels that you have, you may be able to see where it's rubbing against the rotor and correct the problem through the spokes.
