2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee starting problems
Good day I have experienced the most fun with this electrical problem. If this is what you call fun. My gauges were jumping, no power any where, ticking sound from the dash, would not start. Avr test from dealer stated short in the battery (it was a brand new eliminator which canadian tire tested and results came back perfect battery). Installed New Mopar Battery anyway to start somewhere because the dealer insisted it was a defective battery. Same issue one week later. Great job Dealer what a joke.
I traced the negative cable from the battery and traced three grounds so far, ( 1-on the bottom of the block, 2-behind the fuse box beside the battery, 3-on long rod sticking out beside oil dipstick) cleaned them with 80 grit sand paper plus a fine wire brush and the problem hasn't occured in four days. Still looking for more grounds and will continue to clean them once found, although I think I have solved the problem. Hopefully this helps you.
