2000 Ford Ranger Door Switch

Where I work we leave our keys in the ignition. A few days ago, I noticed my truck kept chiming with the keys in, and the "door ajar" light was on on the dash. Last night, the dome light was on and nothing would turn it off, short of pulling the bulb.

Where the heck is the swicth that tells the truck the door is open or closed? They used to be little pushbutton switches in the door jam area, but I can't find it.

2000 Ford Ranger Door Switch

i believe those are in the door latch. and they like to seize up. spray them with PB Blaster. let it soak in. then open/close the doors a BUNCH of times. if this doesn't work = replace the latch.

2000 Ford Ranger Door Switch

Fix'n it is correct. This happens on a lot of Rangers. I have a '96 and an '04. I used WD-40 on the latch, then shut the door hard a couple times. Haven't had a problem since.
