Zinzer 123 Plus

What's the difference between this and the 123?

Zinzer 123 Plus

The plus has extra stain blocker. Supposed to really work for tannin stains. I've had good luck with it on some knotty pine.

So if I am priming/painting new drywall that was just taped/spackled I don't need the plus? Thanks

I don't believe there is an advantage to using the plus over the regular 123 on new drywall no. Unless there was water staining.

If I am remembering correctly, 123 Plus and Smart Prime are the same thing. Smart Prime is a hybrid. It's an alkyd resin suspended in a water base. So yes it blocks better but it's thin and runny. Not as easy to work with.
