Zinser 123 - oil or latex?

I bought 3 or 4 tubes sometime back, of which I have two full tubes left. Last time I was at the BM distributor (a few days ago), it was almost $4 a tube. The tagged bin was there, but they were out of stock. I didn't ask, but maybe it was empty because it is being discontinued.

Paint time is 4-6 hours (oddly, the tube states "dries in 4-6 hrs., can be painted when cured"...not always the same thing).

The last time I used the black tube, the paint time was 8 days, seriously. That was 3-4 years ago. I don't think it was the same as what you're using now. I read it in the middle of using and it blew my mind, and I switched up mid job.

This caulk is Acrylic Urethane (it has the distributor's name on it...not BM's). The fine print calls it an elastomeric product. Since it doesn't specify cure time, I'll have to ask. Maybe the caulk you were using was siliconized latex? I know that can take 1-2 weeks to cure. I found that out the hard way too.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely make sure of cure times for whatever caulk I use.

And thanks to everyone in the thread for the valuable information. I appreciate it!
