Zero VOC Primer to paint wood paneling

I have a room with wood paneling walls. I would like to paint it which seems easy enough but I'm not sure what primer I can use. I would really like to use a zero VOC primer if there is one that would work for this application. My wife is pregnant so low VOC or zero VOC is preferred. The paneling is a light color, something like a natural birch. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Zero VOC Primer to paint wood paneling

I'd also like to know the answer to this question. Surely there's a painting contractor out there that can shed some light on this.

Zero VOC Primer to paint wood paneling

After making sure the paneling is free of dirt, wax, etc, you can prime with most any quality primer

Zero VOC Primer to paint wood paneling

ECOtrend Collagen makes an all natural interior zero VOC primer. I felt it worked great on my walls. I was a little hesitant at first because they are a new company, but they are certified by GREENGUARD Children and Schools which was the reason I bought it.
