yellow pine no stain question

i made my own trim and base out of yellow pine and didnt stain it , i did put on 3 coats of laquer . someone told me that it will turn really yellow in 4 or 5 years, Is that true and is there any type of sealer i can put on it to stop it from turning yellow ? i realy like the look of natural pine and dont want to stain or paint if possible .

yellow pine no stain question

Pine 'mellows' with age and exposure to sunlight--it will darken up ---I like the color, but if you want a natural light color for a long time---you chose the wrong wood.

A finish with a UV blocker will slow down the darkening----but not stop it---

I like it too.Used to see it in a lot of older homes.I have painted over a lot of it too because of it getting so dark after 50 or 60 years.
