Wood primer for bare 2x material in garage?

I'm painting my garage here shortly after I finish the mediocre mudding and taping job the drywallers did.

There is a bit of exposed 2x framing on the garage door wall. Can I just prime this with the same S-W Drywall Primer, or is there a specific primer that I should use? As you can see, it's not a whole lot to cover. Maybe $15 or so for a quart.

The SW drywall primer is rated for use on interior wood also. You'll be fine using it in around the garage doors.

Awesome, thanks. I didn't see anything on it about wood so I wasn't sure.

Probably doesn't say it on the can, but the data sheet lists wood as an approved substrate. Might not be the best choice for priming all the trim in your house, but it will work fine for that.
