Wood Epoxy Recommendation
Hi. I'm getting ready to start repairing the outside of our old Victorian home. It has been neglected (not by us - we just moved in a few weeks ago) and the wood is rotten in places. We are mostly repairing the clapboard, but there are some areas that will be better off being filled with a wood epoxy. I've bought a gallon of wood hardener to treat the area with first (I didn't do this step before on our old bungalow and the wood epoxy held up just fine, but that was on interior windows. Since this is exterior, I figured the extra step of hardening first would be smart).

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on what kind of expoxy to use or not use. I'm about to order this (PC 2 part expoxy in gray)

It's less expensive than the Marine Quality and the white or tan. I figure since it will be primed and painted with two coats, it wouldn't matter if it was gray.

Has anyone had any experience with this brand. $127 for 8lbs is much more economical than buying it locally at Menards/HomeDepot/Lowes etc.

Abatron restoration products are hard to beat. Have used them on both antique home and sailboat restorations. Products are a bit pricey but perform well.

Yep, I've sold more Abatron than I ever thought I would with zero complaints in the last 4-5 years we've carried it.
