Wood Bleach for Red Oak

I'm considering refinishing some red oak cabinets and I'd like to lighten them up a bit. I've looked into wood bleach and it looks like this might offer the best option.

Has anyone done this before with red oak, and if so, how did it turn out?

Another question for Florcraft- As a fellow Anchorage resident, do you know where I might be able to find the two-part A/B bleach?

Wow, I've only used it before pickling
IMO it takes away the variations in the tone of the wood, and therefore some of the beauty of stained wood

...but then, I like things like a clear stain on Cherry, which can range from dark red to beige in the same piece, and is traditionally stained dark for that reason

If that's what you are going for, less variation, it should work fine
I haven't done it in a long time, but it worked great for pre-pickling red oak
