Window Sill Varnish

I have a large bow window that has a wood sill that is varnished and is in bad need of refinishing. The existing varnish is flaking off. My plan is sand this down to bare wood, then refinish. Any thoughts on a good wood varnish (poly) for this application? I have had good results in the past with Minwax products.

Window Sill Varnish

I'd use a poly or spar varnish, but I'm no pro.

Window Sill Varnish

I would recommend a urethane over a varnish
The problem with windows and doors is the need something that expands and contracts
Varnishes (even marine) don't have the give and take and they tend to flake off

My first choice would be Sikkens Door & Window
A close second, the MinWax Spar Urethane
