window sash painting problem

Hi there.
I painted some wooden sashes and everything is fine but they cracked on the joints.
especially the bottom one where it pivots the most.
Any tips on how to fix or prevent this problem?

did you use a flexible caulk on the joins? this lets the paint flex without cracking. use it wherever two pieces of timber meet.
