Well fortunately, the site doesn't charge us to be members. Remember, websites don't run on hopes and dreams.

No ads for me

I had to look for it. I use firefox with the adblock plus plugin.

I see it again now. There were several over the weekend boasting about men hauling tons o stuff and so forth. No option to report it as spam. It appears in the context of this forum section as a post would---not like adjoining ads so I suspect it is not caught by ad-blockers. It is marked as a paid post by Ford so at least that is noble.

VERY ANNOYING and I hope not part of a supported trend.

Unfortunately, I think it is a real way to help pay for this site. Not many DIY with a Q would want to pay for a Q to get answered, would they..?

If it becomes universal though? Aren't the banner ads enough? Where will the line be drawn. Certain advertisers? First 3 per month?

They do appear and disappear and you do not have to open the posts. I guess I understand if not too many of them pop-up constantly.

OK this is Ford next is Chevy then Honda then Dodge then Kia then Toyota. We have ads on top ads on the side and ads on the bottom of every post. I really don't mind Ford ads it's just where they put them.

The vehicle companies do not scare me so much I guess. When BEHR starts showing up as sponsored posts in addition to in banner ads in the paint section I will not be a happy camper and will consider it an act of site owner prostitution pure and simple.
