What Sherwin Williams Interior Line is equivalent to the A-100 Exterior Paint?
 

Using Sherwin Williams for the first time for Interior-purpose. What Sherwin Williams Interior Line is equivalent to the A-100 Exterior Paint?

I can't say for sure exactly, but, Promar 200 or Promar 400 would be my guess.

Way, way back when A-100 was Sherwin Williams absolute top of the line exterior product, Super Kem Tone would've been the interior equivalent... Then came Super Paint exterior and Classic 99 would've been the interior equivalent (during this period of time, their labels were color coded: Top line products were blue labels with a gold band, second line products were red labels with a silver band)...(this all woulda been circa late 70's / early 80's). I realize this really doesn't have much to do with your question, but I though you'd all be fascinated and bedazzled with that little bit of SW trivia.

they dont do equivelants with interior/exterior paints anymore. currently A100 is their 5th best exterior paint warranty wise. Technically superpaint interior would be their 5th best interior paint. but all of their interior products come with a satisfaction guarantee

my guy at sherwin told me they had to discontinue it altogether to make room for a few new product lines. said it was the slowest mover.

Not sure why you are asking this question. Do you like the quality and application characteristics of the A100 and want an interior coating that performs as well? Is it price? Comparing interior to exterior coatings many times is like comparing apples to oranges. So can you be more specific on what your project is and what you are hoping to accomplish?

it makes sense when you think about it. . . in the past 2 years theyve added both promar 200 and 400 in 0voc formulations. plus hgtv, emerald, solo. they are really trying to be the future of paint. My rep told me that sherwins goal is to completely adapt to voc laws before the entire nation has to become like california. Which sucks, because nothing will ever work as good on decks or cabinets as oil based products
