What paint to used

The community I live in requires that we paint our house every seven years. My question is what paint I should used and price range being that I have to paint again in Seven years anyway. Live in Florida.

This is probably a question better answered by other residents of your community. Florida is quite a bit different in terms of harsh weather and intense sunlight. I would ask them what they are using on their homes so you can make an informed decision based on local variables.

Many of us on here have our personal preferences. I like Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint because it works well on most of the substrates here in the Midwest and it is reasonably priced. Others like Benjamin Moore, PPG, Valspar, etc.

Also, it can make a HUGE difference in what you decide to use based on the substrate of your home. Is it stucco, wood, vinyl, fiber cement, etc.

By the "tone" of your question, there seems to be a connotation that you might want to use cheaper paint, since you have to paint again in 7 years "anyway". But 7 years is kind of a long time. I'd think you'd want to use a quality paint and still paint at least every 7 years.

Here is an interesting discussion on it.

Living in Fla I like SW super paint or Porter I can't remember the name Acylsheild I think but not sure. Porter is a PPG company Ben Moore also has good EXT. Paints. Most houses in Fla. seem to be stucco, your post implies you are going to paint it yourself, if this is true there are couple things you need to do for prep. But this is assuming it's stucco. How are you applying the paint, roller or sprayer? The thing to remember in Fla. is the hardest thing on the paint is the sun.

Thanks to all for the great advice. It has really help in making a decision. I will be using BM. I did consider SW, but A friend that paints houses always uses BM and he is getting the paint for me at his discount which is a lot less than what SW would have cost me. Thank you all for your help.
