What are the effects of painting on a humid day
Did some priming last night.
It's been very wet and humid out here.....humid to the point where area of the house that never see *dew* on the windows, this morning, straight up sopping water - as if it rained inside the sunroom.
I went around just knocking some drips, etc - planning to do a quick sand on the walls. I can *feel* the primer is not fully dried. Don't plan to sand to induce lifting....
I guess I'll close the windows, crank up the HEAT and let the room dry out...
So what are the drawbacks of painting when it's straight up humid....aside from drying times. WILL it affect the bond of the paint, etc, etc...Supposed to be still be humid for the next couple of days.
All walls and floors were dusted and wiped with a wet MF. I DONT want to paint with the AC on as the airflow my be blowing around residual dust from remodeling.
Thoughts, suggestions, advice.
I think you already know- will slow dry considerably. Unless the surface is actually wet before or soon after- "most times" will not be a problem. You are talking interior, i think. Use a fan. A lot. It really helps.
Which of the 3 is preferred. I assume heat
I can crank the heat in the room
Turn on the AC which dehumifies the room
Open all windows and throw a couple of blower fans around.....
I would think heat would the the answer......but then it still does not draw out water out the air like AC.
I think air movement- fan- is the most immediate- but then I'd go with the AC for dehumidifying. I assume its already hot?
Yeah...it's hot and humid.
I just wasn't sure whether I wandcold----no moist air or would just raw heat be better
grrrr..I've got 2 areas in which a used 5-in-1 on a drip and it lifted off and then some. Need hot mud to fix. I don't even want to mud/ do any mechanical abrasion on the wall till I know it's dry.
