What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper so i can paint the walls? I would just paint over it but as you can see, that would be a waste of money

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
If they are multiple coats of wallpaper the best and easiest way is to rent a wallpaper steamer from your local wallpaper supply store. If it is a single layer, score the surface of the wallpaper with a device you can purchase at most any hardware store then wet it down with warm water and scrape it off with a putty knife.
Good luck |

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
one thing to keep in mind: This is a 1979 Mobile home. That means, the wallpaper is attached to wood paneling, not sheetrock. I dont know if that affects the method any, but its worth mentioning.
Also, i dont have the money to replace the paneling, so please dont tell me to rip it all out and replace it. Its just not feasible |

That does make a difference. If it is the original paper on the paneling I would just paint over it. if it is wallpaper you should remove it. if you do not it will probably bubble up on you. We have the same thing in our home bathroom had been wallpapered and we had to remove it. by scoring and putty knives. then patching where we went through the original panel covering. good luck

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
I did a room in my Mom's house that had really ugly 70's wallpaper.
I discovered a pretty easy way to get that crap off the wall. Score the wall paper and then mix fabric softener and warm water 50/50 and use a spray bottle to wet the wall paper. I was able to peel off large areas quite easy. |

Once you rip the vinyl off, all you’re left with is the paper back. You can use the above method of fabric softener and water mix to soak the paper and then scrap away with putty knife. Wash walls with TSP to remove any glue residue.

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
Mobil home "wall paper" is part of the wall, just prime with a quality bonding primer( CoverStain) and paint.

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
Chris, I think you might have scrolled too fast over this pic? I don't think painting over this is going to turn out well? The paper/wall covering is not on the surface anymore unless my aged eyes are tricking me. The good news is that the covering may come off relatively easy. Now given what I see is around windows of a mobile home I worry there are deeper problems.

no the wallpaper is that way due to moisture coming in through that one window that was broken. Its fixed now but the damage is done.

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?![]() Definitely not for mobile home masonite or whatever walls. And the OP has stated money is tight. When taking layers off antique homes, I have never turned to a steamer. I do think seeing the damage around the window, a bullet bitten is in the near future to replace whatever the interior wall material is on at least that one wall. Sorry to bring bad tidings.

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?Quote:
I see it NOW , but anyway, any mobil home I have ever seen,( not that many) the "wall paper" was not actually wall paper but what ever they make the walls with and it can be painted but not stripped. The pic above would indicate replacement of the material, which, I bet, you probably cannot get anymore

What is the easiest way to remove wallpaper?
its actually just wood paneling with wallpaper over it. Its a 1979 mobile home, so its all wood paneling except the kitchen. guess ill try my luck with the laundry softener and water and a putty knife, and hope for the best. Replacing the panel would consist of moving the tub and i really dont wanna do that unless i absolutely have to.
