What do I need to do to give my vanity this patina?

Our vanities are old late 80s dark-stained oak cabinets. We're getting ready to get new marble tops and I would love to finish off the wood with this look and patina. Could anyone provide any suggestions on how to match this? Thanks!

Oak will never look like that wood, the grain is too pronounced.
With more than a little skill you could over color with a tinted varnish- that looks pretty flat so maybe Modern Masters true Flat varnish.
If you're wood is already pretty dark it might not be enough of a change- in that example you have a variety of tones showing through, so there needs to be some light ones there.
Might be a job for a pro Faux painter.

Go to the library and get some books on faux finishing and working with glazes. Then experiment. Then if it doesn't work out and just looks like mud, hire a faux finisher.
