I have a small appartment with two small basement sized windows. I painted it a light grey, trying to keep the room light, and painting the bottom section a darker grey to add a little more color & contrast. The doors, appliances and kitchen cabnits will be white, with a black countertop.
I am wondering what colors the chair-rail and trim should be.
There are drop-celings which might have made the hight a bit lower than normal. So, I am not sure if painting the trim (and chair-rails) white will make the walls look shorter or to broken-up looking.
If I choose to paint the chair rail the same color as the bottom, darker grey, can I still paint the other trim (windows, doors, floor trim) white?
I would paint all the trim a white, not a really bright white though. Atrium White (a Benjamin Moore color) is nice with warm grays. A very light shade/tint of the same grays on the walls might look nice too. Could be too much of the same though.
