waterproofing question
1 Attachment(s)
I have an old porch that is made of wood. It has been covered over by concrete. What is the best waterproofing I can use on the concrete to prevent the wood underneath from rotting? I live in the NY metro area. I hope this is clearer than my first post.

Pictures would be helpful. I think EPDM roofing would work best with a floating deck over that. Not a cheap solution, but probably the best.

I think sixeithteen's suggestion would be the best, if the porch surface is not functional. A more functional option, IMO, would be fiberglass, the rage in decking surfaces. Here is a link http://www.njfiberglassdeck.com/see-our-work/

Hate to make it sound like I am pushing a product - I suggested this stuff in a previous thread as well - but check out amesresearch.com. I just did a concrete roof deck with their products. Some of the most amazing stuff I've ever used.
