What primer is best to conceal water lines bleeding through in our bathroom? We recently had the bathroom painted--the painter used several coats of primer (not sure what kind) and 2 coats of paint, and water lines appeared on the wall shortly thereafter. Help!!

Since water stains are water soluble- you need a primer not based on water. The sure fire stain killer is shellac ( alcohol based) BIN, or an oil like Cover Stain.
If small enough- both of these products are available in spray cans or qts.

What is a water line? I would suggest that you call the painter to have him fix it.

Hey cardinal girl. Most likely your painter used a water base stain blocking primer. If you use an oil base stain blocker, that should take care of your problem. Then you can go over that with a latex paint or paint of your choice. Water stains, nicotine stain, and magic markers are some of the stains where an oil base stain blocker usually performs a lot better. Hope this helps.

If the stain keeps coming back are you 100% sure there's not a leak?

Describe your "water line". Were their water stains prior to painting that are now bleeding through or are you seeing water streaks from shower steam condensing on the wall? The solution (and cause) for each is quite different.

These are water lines that were there prior to painting.
