What primer is best to conceal water lines bleeding through in our bathroom? We recently had the bathroom painted--the painter used several coats of primer (not sure what kind) and 2 coats of paint, and water lines appeared on the wall shortly thereafter. Help!!

Since water stains are water soluble- you need a primer not based on water. The sure fire stain killer is shellac ( alcohol based) BIN, or an oil like Cover Stain.
If small enough- both of these products are available in spray cans or qts.

Hey cardinal girl. Most likely your painter used a water base stain blocking primer. If you use an oil base stain blocker, that should take care of your problem. Then you can go over that with a latex paint or paint of your choice. Water stains, nicotine stain, and magic markers are some of the stains where an oil base stain blocker usually performs a lot better. Hope this helps.
