wallpaper paint????

My grandmother had a neighbor over the other day who is a painter to look at her kitchen. He told her there is a product he referred to as "blanket". He says he uses it all the time to cover wallpaper. Thing is her wallpaper is textured and vinyl.lol. I personally despise paint so I know nothing when it comes products new or old.

If it is that stamped wallpaper meant to be painted, they would just paint with Latex. As for covering wallpaper, usually just Zenser or Killz is used to cover the design, then painted with Latex.

It usually not a good idea to paint wallpaper unless it is the vinyl that is meant to be painted. Think about it what do we use to remove wallpaper-water. What is latex paint-water based.

Its some slick feeling stuff. How can you tell if its meant to be painted?

The paintable ones are sully embossed (is that the right word) and the texture is raised, and they are not slick. Slick brings up thoughts of adhesion problems. There are some people on here that have more wallpaper experience than I have maybe they will have a different answer.

In the history of BAD ideas, painting wallpaper is in the top 5. Don't do it.
