wall frames

Hello everybody,
Are there any rules on the sizes of the wall frames? The size of my master bedroom is 20x15ft. The height of the highest wall is 12 ˝ ft., of the opposite wall – is 8ft. I would like to put a trim-molding around the whole room on the height of 8 ft. and then to make 3 “windows” to the upper rectangle of highest wall and one big “window” to lowest wall. I have really hard time to figure out the best size of these “wall frames”. I would really appreciate your advice on that.

I would post this message in the interior decorating forum next door. Personally, I think a one foot border would be appropriate. Size the three rectangles to have one foot above the lower large one, with a foot from the ceiling and a foot between surrounding.
