Valspar Signature Paint plus primer

Can you add silica sand ( not reg sand ) to this paint? Any help is much appreciated.

Previous coat added, not sanded can see drywall texture. Added to that, multiple coats added in some areas. Trying to cover it without sanding the whole wall. Tried sanding and don't want to have to do all whole 4 walls in the 1/2 bath. Plus, some of the darker coats are rolling (peeling) off. Can I add a silica based sand to a Valspar signature paint plus primer? Please help. Any is greatly appreciated.

Looks like a Satin finish. Previously painted 1/2 bath. Previous painter painted designs (diamonds using painters tape and different colors, can see levels of paint by eye). Trying to cover without sanding the whole because the paint is peeling off while sanding. Wondering if a sandy texture would help cover it. BTW, paint has already been bought. wasn't planning on the peeling of the darker tints.

You are trying to put a bad band aid over a problem that won't be fixed that way.
And once the sand is on, you are stuck with it.

Lets try and get to the bottom of this- biggest problem is you say the paint is peeling- explain better-

can you? yes but it is not going to fix the problem, you are trying to cover past painting problems by covering it up, not gonna work

You are trying to skip the necessary prep work and using less than a stellar product for all of this. Good things will not come your way with this approach. 95 percent of a good paint job is in the prep. Nice materials and tools round it all out.

You cannot expect adhesion to improve by putting on subsequent layers. You have to fix why paint is peeling and coming loose before putting more of same on. And expecting sand texture to compensate for not wanting to or having to sand is just not a workable solution to your problem.
