Trim Problem ?
Contracted painters to paint existing wood trim.
Existing trim had white gloss paint on it. Applied gloss latex.
New paint has been applied and drying for 2-3 days now. Paint is still "sticky". It appears to peal off in places as well.
Question-- Was this applied improperly ? If so, how should the contractors have approached this ?
If improper, what is the fix ?
need a lot more info.
was existing trim painted with oil?
was it cleaned and sanded prior to latex paint being applied?
What does the painter say is happening?
It sounds like there was gloss oil originaly and that latex was applied for the top coat? Is this possible? There are a couple other possibilities.
The paint should of dried days ago.
Need more info to help.
Exact type (brand & line) of paint?
Humidity, temp, other climate/weather conditions?
