Tips on Wood Glue ---- staining issues

Got the stairs stained.
Turns out there are areas right in the bottom of the baluster where it meets the tread --- the installer left minute glue spillout on the very edges. So it sticks out like a sore thumb (beige glue) against a dark stain.

Any ideas or suggestions on *tweaking* the glue. Granted, there is some seperation/expansion of these joints...so it's a bit more pronounced. Similar to the tread returns...edge bullnose, where in this weather , some of these have split a lil open. However, in the tread....much less glue spillout and the stain just seeps into the slight expansion crack and blends in

A tube of ogre and burn sienna artists oils and a touch of paint thinner--'fake it' in like an artist.

A starter set of oil paints might be the cheapest way---Some one might have a better solution--but that is what I do---Mike--

Tips on Wood Glue ---- staining issues

I knew there was weather expansion prior to staining. But I did not see the glue against the clean white oak. It's obviously more pronounced now with the stain. I ended up taking a sharp chisel - removing some and just ran the stain rag over it. It's better....I suppose. I guess I can attempt to take a wax crayon ontop of it after the Bona traffic is applied and dry
