I couple years back, I sealed a cedar bench with Thompsons Tinted Water Seal. It was a disaster. It just never dried. It stayed tacky. And looked bad on top of it. I figured it would eventually dry, but even though you could sit on it, it still felt gummy.
So last year I tried sanding it off. I was only able to get about half of it off.
Any suggestions for what I should try next? Could I paint it the way it is? Not really the look I wanted, but not sure what to do with it.
Do you think stripping would work? Even after sanding, it doesn't seem very smooth anymore. Kind of like the grain is raised.
