Swingset waterseal

Just ordered a cedar swingset for the little ones, and was hoping someone could recommend a long lasting sealer for it. I'm planning on treating the boards before we put it together. We're in the midwest, and it will be in full sun/winter elements.

Many thanks! :)

Clear or toner, or solid stain?

All good suggestions so far. I also like CWF-UV made by the Flood Co. It's a reasonably priced clear sealer or you can buy the cedar or redwood tones for a bit of color. On something like a swing set you should get at least 3 or 4 years of protection before recoating.

Thank you for all of the recommendations! It snowed about a foot here over the weekend, so now I just need for this weather to cooperate!

Thanks again!
Leanne :)

Clear would be ideal, and I'd rather stay away from a solid stain. I'm not sure what a toner is....

Toner just has a little bit of color in it. For example, CWF-UV comes in Clear, Cedar (toner), or Redwood (toner). All three are basically clears but the Cedar and Redwood have just enough color (toner) to give the finished product that orange hue (for Cedar), or a Reddish hue (for Redwood).
