I agree with ltd. If I remember correctly, it's a standard already established product using already established colors with new labeling and promo. Nothing new.

I have not used it. I'm sure its a great product. What I do know is that it is not a relabeled product from there line, it is not Classic 99 relabeled or any of there existing products reformulated. SW and Home and Garden teamed up about a year ago or so, they have came up with some new colors for SW and Home and Garden uses SW paint on a lot of there shows now.

I think the other posters are correct it equal to classic 99 or dutch boy paint.

Yeah, that's what I remember being told. Can't remember what the manager said exactly about the paint itself, but I do remember him saying that every color is already in the main color collection. The same thing with Pottery Barn colors at BM. They're just a preferred/recommended subset of the manufacturers color collection. It would only be a big deal if they charged a premimum price for the HGTV line, which I don't know if they do. Whether it's new for HGTV or not, I think you'll be fine using it. If they did make a specific product, I doubt they would make it junky and sully HGTV's name. That's even though they never use drop cloths on their shows, and work out of full gallons, and start rolling in the middle of the walls, etc. LOL.

I had heard it is the Dutch Boy formula which is SW's box store brand. I would have the color mixed in a paint I knew for sure. Also bothers me SW is hyping it as paint and primer in one. Thought they were above such nonsense.

I can say that I'm very happy with the results, love that the smell is hardly noticeable and it was very easy to use, with the bright turquoise it did need 2 coats but the results are fantastic.
What a bargin compared to BM Natura. |
