Question

SW Duration over Superpaint?

So for repainting my house a while back I bought a bunch of Sherwin Williams exterior latex Superpaint that was on sale, and also a gallon of exterior latex Duration, both satin finish. My question is I have used up most of my Superpaint yet still have this gallon of Duration, can I apply the Duration over a single coat of Superpaint? If its ok do I need to sand the first coat to rough it up a bit for the Duration to adhere or is sanding overkill?

Thanks.

You should be fine, no sanding necessary.

You will be perfectly ok applying the duration over the superpaint, there is no sanding needed. They are both waterbourne(acrylic). My personal preference between the two is SuperPaint. We use that on all of our exterior painting and our work is warranted in writing. I have tried Duration, but am still a SuperPaint fan, I feel that a primer is a primer and a paint is a paint and that the two should not be mixed in the same can.
