Stripping paint off plastic items

Is there a way to strip paint off plastic items that have intricate detail in them? If I use sandpaper I will damage all the detailing and I don't want to do that. Any ideas?

Might try soaking in a 50-50 solution of ammonia for awhile. Plastics aren't usually known for taking paint very well, colors usually embedded before they're molded.
