Streaks in Ceiling Paint
I have new drywall that I primed.

I spray painted the ceilings white and they looked awful so I rolled them with more white paint. I can still see streaks everywhere.

The walls and ceilings have a thick orange peel texture so I used a thick nap roller.

What am I doing wrong?

What brand/Mfg of paint?
Sounds like you are pressing too hard with a roller

Hey kntry, when you say "spray painted" do you mean you used an airless paint sprayer, or you used a spray paint can to paint the ceiling? Uneven application of spray will certainly show up through multiple coats. Also when rolling make sure to use a "w" pattern and maintain a wet edge, same as with a normal wall. If you just roll straight, you'll probably end up with lines that show up around your ceiling.

No, I used an airless sprayer.

I'll have to try the W trick. I did roller it in straight lines.

When I sprayed the ceilings, I used Valspar from Lowe's. I know, I was in a hurry and the paint stores were closed. The rolled paint was PPG.

Thank you
