sticky deck boards


I need help...used oil based stain on an older deck. Just stained a large portion then it rained. Now its stick/kinda slippery I guess:/

What shape was it in to begin with? Did it have a finish on it? what kind, what shape was it in?
did you do any prep- clean it, use a brightener, sand?

Need to know stuff to answer.

Well it hasn't been stained in years. Deck cleaner then deck brightener.stain followed by like 3 days of rain! That's pretty much it
