Sticking hotel room doors after painting

We painted 100 hotel room doors last summer and continue to have problems with the door "sticking" and hard to open for guests. Besides from repainting all doors are their any other ideas/solutions for this
problem?

Did you strip the built up paint from the edge of the door & the door framing ?

Too much paint building up over the years is one major cause of this

Thank you. Yes, they were prepped befor painting.
Even after all this time the door fronts are totally dry
but the frames still "tacky".

Many latex paints contain plasticizers which when touching another product with a plasticizer ( paint or plastic ) will stick. It doesn't matter how long ago the surface was painted. Window sash painted with latex will stick when in comes in contact with the plastic window guts etc.

Thank you! The door frame DOES hit the weatherstripping so maybe that's the problem? Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks. Will WD-40 take the "takiness" off and stay? We've tried rubbing parafin wax around the frame and it helps............for about 10 openings.

Probably not, the only real solution I know would be to let the paint cure( 30 days) by leaving the doors open.In a hotel that obviously is not feasible, you got me, sand it all off and re coat in a flat? maybe

if it is sticking to the weatherstripping, try using a little baby oil or mineral oil rubbed onto the weatherstripping. If it's sticking to another painted surface that is a tough one. After paint fully cures than that shouldn't happen. I would suggest using a paint like WB Satin Impervo next time or something else made specifically for trim - they tend to stick a lot less than your regular wall paints. What type of paint did you use? Maybe you can get the rep from the paint company over to offer suggestions.
