staining raw weathered wood

about 5 years ago i wanted to save some money and i purchased raw pine siding. I had a company put it up for me and i was going to stain it myself. Well after 5 years it still isnt done. now here comes the problem. Its starting to get the gray look to it. How do i clean it without scratching the natural soft wood.

You can use a deck cleaner on it. You may want to get up there and sand it though....

Wolman Deckbrite or a similar product would be my first suggestion. It's a sodium percarbonate cleaner. Does a good job foaming the dirt out of it and doesn't require a high pressure wash to clean it up.
