staining my patio deck

After 4 years of use, my pressure treated patio deck (12ftX30ft) is need of a new stain. I checked out Home Depot and have the impression that I would prefer to go with the CIL sem-transparent stain.

My question is am I doing the right thing in buying the CIL premium that supposedly offers a 5 yr. guarantee on decks? Is this guarantee for real and if so what do I have to do make sure it is honoured? Also is $28 a gallon a good price? What about a deck finish remover? They are asking $15 a galon. I also need to buy brushes. Any advise out there on this?

Thanks
Morry

Can't say for CIL, is that Canadian?
But I can tell you, most coating warranties are for product failure, not normal wear and tear
So if it looks like it needs another coat after 2 years, but isn't failing, just wearing, that may not be covered

Realistically, three years before looking like it could use a little help is good for oil-based stains

The best deck stain brushes I've ever used are "Bestt Stainer" by Bestt Liebco

If you have an old finish on it, you may want to use the finish remover or cleaner recommended by the stain co.

Thanks for the reply. Yes CIL is Canadian. I live in Toronto Ontario. From the reaction of others, I gather Benjamin Moore is the preferred paint. I'll try and get the Bestt Stainer product. Based on what I have learned from others, I will stay away from Behr and wood cleaning system.

I wonder what store I should go to in Toronto to buy my paint, cleaning and brushes.

Thanks again for your help.
