Stain the deck with a chance of rain???

There is a 30% chance of rain today and my painter wants to go ahead and stain my deck. Should I let him?

With most oil stains, as long as the wood is dry before application, rain afterwards is usually fine. If the stain is absorbed into the wood, rain within a few hours is ok. I wouldnt worry. If guys called off work ( here in Michigan ) every time the forecast had a chance of rain.....They'd never get a job done

Yeah, 30% is pretty low.......now if it's overcast & they're calling for 90% chance of showers......that's another story. I've done jobs where they said 0% chance of precip and it poured for 2 hours.

Ya, if we didn't paint/stain any day with a 30% chance of rain we would have a LOT of days off.
