Spray Painting without aerosol cans

Hey all,

I'm spray painting a lot of cardboard black, and I wanted to know if there is a way to not use all those cans... i.e. I see store listings for spray guns but I have no idea how to use it or if I'm cut out to own one.

Otherwise, it's about 50 cans I'd be using.

So, I see spray guns - where do I buy paint to put in them? Is this too complicated for a new user, and am I better off just using the aerosol cans?

Thanks,
Christina

Why not just get a roller and roll it on?
Go to a paint store to get paint- just an idea!

Brushjockey is right! Just buy a gallon of black paint, pour it into a paint tray, and roll the black paint on. Trust me, it's gonna be a lot easier. By the time you buy/rent a sprayer, learn how to use it, prep the area where you're painting, and clean up, you would be done with a roller. Just sayin.

P.S. Buying 50 aerosol cans is gonna cost about $280. This must be some project!
