Depending on where you live, this time of year is not the best to be outside painting. Roof painting, .......................Not a good idea!!!

Spray painting exterior walls and roofing

Need more info.

What sort of roof? Metal? Wood shakes?

I've sprayed lots of houses, usually I want to keep the paint off the roof though.

Everything is sprayable. It's possible to make a big mess too. Have you ever done any spraying? Do you have a detached garage you can practice on first?

Spray painting exterior walls and roofing

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the responses.
We are in a hot dry summer season here along the West Coast of South Africa right now. This is the time to paint.
The house is a 12 year old double story.
The roofing is Asbestos sheeting and the main building has plastered brick walls with wood window frames. All previously painted and not yet in a bad condition.
The paint I've chosen is called DULUX ROOF GUARD and DULUX WEATHER GUARD for the walls. (I'm not sure whether you are familiar with this product.
I'm more interested in advice as to the necessity to dilute the paint or not and what the dilution ratio should be. (Ball-parK).
I've done extensive Internet reading on the subject but don't seem to get a mixing ratio advice from anywhere.
I'd appreciate any assist.
Have a good one

If my airless sprayer will handle it I always try to spray FULL STRENGTH. Sometime the material is too heavy though. Sorry i can't give a ratio. But a ballpark would be start with a pint to a gallon and see if the sprayer can handle it. Work up from there.

BTW, we always backroll to work the paint into cracks, crevices and pinholes.

http://www.dulux.co.za/products/info.../roofguard.jsp
Brush/Roll application.
Says DO NOT DILUTE.

Brush/Roll application.

I would imagine that this product is a DO NOT DILUTE as well.
Why not call your local rep and find out!!!!
