So a chick has officially left the Valspar comfort zone

Well wanted to report on my first usage of SW paints vs Valspar. To be fair, I have never had any issues with Valspar - it is all I have used in the past (at least this side of the equator). Always had great coverage and was very easy to use...or so I thought.

So far I have used the SW PVA primer and 2 coats of Duration on the Master (wow - talk about painting with silk). I have also used the SW premium wood primer and Pro Classic (first coat) on the trim. Even the hubby is impressed with the quality of the job. He loves the look of the Pro Classic. Looks like it was sprayed on. Thanks to those that have posted tips on using this stuff. Used a few of them with the pro classic and very impressed with the results. Can't wait to see what it all looks like when its up with the second coat.

To even things out I had a linen closet that I used a left over Valspar PVA primer and their high hiding primer and a regular coat of their best product. After using the SW it was meh...Big difference in the quality of the paint - but hey it's a linen closet lol.

Would I pay full price for the Duration and the PC...probably not...not unless I execute the Plan B aka "Husbands life insurance" but I am very impressed with the quality. Having tried the SW, I would love to try the BM Aura but the nearest store is like 40 miles away and they don't give price breaks.

You have all created a monster and I am banned from the SW store (at least till the next sale)

Thanks for the input.

Robyn

One thing to remember BM will honor SW sale prices in most cases. Glad we could help that's what it's all about.

Probably the best ( affordable?) paint on the market, in my humble yet modest opinion

I had no idea BM would honor SW prices. What's the process?

In my area take in a flyer or ad like from the paper, or print a coupon online, take it in and ask them if they will honor it. That is to prove they are having a sale. Maybe someone else has other suggestions.
