slip trowel

Shalom to all, I am doing slip trowel technic on my walls and ceiling in my half bath and I am mixing some paint with joint compound and applying it on the walls and ceilings, however when I am done I want to protect the walls and ceilings with a clear coat of something so if I need to wash the walls it will be protected any suggestion out there would be great
