Sherwin Williams Brilliance Ceiling Paint as a primer as well?

Painting several rooms of newly taped and sanded drywall. A Sherwin Williams store clerk told me not to bother priming the ceilings and to just use the SW Brilliance ceiling paint as a primer and ceiling paint for the ceilings.
I'm all for saving money and time, but want get it right the first time.
Thoughts?

Second time today someone mentioned a SW person suggesting to skip a primer and just use paint. Primer and paint are not the same thing. It is especially important you prime new drywall. All future paint applied is going to be reliant on the adhesion of that first layer and it should be a sealer/primer.

Paint stores have quality paint, but unfortunately may not have quality help.

Nonsence, must have been a newby with no painting experirnce, which is kind of strange for SW. You certainly need to prime new drywall and you will certainly need 2 coats of Brilliance. That is one paint I am not much impressed with.

Even though it is a ceiling I would still use a primer. It's usually cheaper than the paint anyways, it bonds better, seals better, and leaves a more durable base coat for the paint to adhere to.

Latex Primer: Good for Drywall, that's about it.
Behr Paint: The plastic buckets are good, that's about it.

That paint hasn't been getting very good reviews here for ceilings-
And yes, prime. So much easier.

I've actually been quite pleased with it, and used it on two jobs.
