I am putting up new sheetrock on a kitchen ceiling.. Accidentally I made some cutouts reversed. Instead oF tossing the sheet can I install it on the opposite side (dark Paper side facing down ). Will It make a difference. Any thoughts on this.

considering sheet rock only 10 bucks a piece... I would get new ones and use your wrong cut out to mould it on the new sheet rock to save measuring time ... Although I have never try it... but the paper in the back and front is of different texture... it probably affect the decorating look... I wouldn't risk that....

I guess I wouldn't try it either. Think about it if you put it up and had it all finished, then when you went to paint, that area looked a lot darker. It would not pay off.

Even the pros make that mistake now and then....

When they make that mistake , they take it down too I guess.

Smooth-sanded surface: Yes...taken down....

Textured ceiling: No...it can be completely 'textured' over ...and look/be 100 %... (spoken from experience)
