seperate primer needed?

I went to my local lowes, and told them i want to paint my house myself and have no idea where to start. She talked to me about paint options and said since this particular paint is an exterior paint/primer mix, i dont have to get primer and kept pushing this one brand.
I have had a few contradicting statements on this and not sure who to listen to.
The paint on the trim is peeling. Body is good.
Thanks

Prime the peeling trim after scraping/sanding. If the body is solid, you shouldn't need to prime.

If there's bare wood showing prime it.
House needs to be pressure washed before painting.

Like the other posters said. If you have bare/raw wood then prime with an exterior wood primer.
