Semi-Transparent Latex Stain

Hi - Just wondering if 2 coats would be recommended on a deck? It has never been painted before and will be using Semi-Transparent Latex Stain. The deck has been pressure washed and is ready to go.

And if 2 coats are recommended, should I apply the 2nd coat before the 1st coat dries? They recommend doing this on oil-based, but haven't found anything on latex-based.

Thanks.

Semi-Transparent Latex Stain

Most semi-trans I am familiar with are one-coat systems
Some say if a second coat is required or desired, it should be done "wet-on-wet", some say "one coat only"
Most semi-trans I'm familiar with are oil/alkyds though, we haven't found a water-based one that hold up for beans out here
I don't think I can even get on at the local paint store if I wanted too

...oh, except for the new Aborcoat from Ben Moore
That's a water-based two coater in semi-trans or trans
But the second coat is a clearcoat
It's pretty new...I haven't tried it (season just barely starting out here)

Regardless, your specific product with have specific directions like I typed above on the can
