Second layer of paint blistering

I have been repainting my home built in 1948. The walls are dry wall with several layers of latex paint. We primed with Glidden latex primer and followed with a layer of Glidden eggshell paint. Both of these layers (primer and 1st layer of paint) applied flawless. The second layer of paint is bubbling and blistering in no apparent pattern. We have two blister spots the size of a near the crown molding in the hall and one in the kitchen and it is bubbling in several patches (2-4 mm bubbles in 8-10 in clusters). We have bought new painting supplies, new paint, sanded re-primed and now the primer alone is blistering when starting over. Why would the first layers applied be fine? Why would the primer bubble after sanding? We also prepped/cleaned etc. before project. Thanks, Dalana

A pic would help but you need to determine how many layers are bubbling. If it is just the primer and new coats then I would blame the Glidden primer. If it is all the way down to the drywall then you have adhesion problems with the first coat of paint ever put on the walls and adding three layers of a water based product is causing it to lift off because of too much moisture.
Latex Primer: Good for Drywall, that's about it.
Behr Paint: The plastic buckets are good, that's about it.

How long did you allow one coat to dry before adding another?

If you washed the walls, what did you use?

Tack any patches?
