Sealing/Painting Suede Staircase

I recently ripped up the old carpets on my stairs. The stairs are in pretty good condition. I was going to just re-paint them (They were painted white under the stairs.) I stumbled upon the Suede Paint. I followed the instructions and it came out pretty good. There are what seems to be a little white showing through, only showing if you stick your nose up to the steps. Do I paint a second coat the same way or just let it go?
Also should I seat the stairs with a coat/s of polyurethane? Will that ruin the look of the suede steps?
Thank you in advance.

Suede steps? On the treads?
Was it Ralphy paint?

I don't think the texture will wear well.
paint some of it on a test board and try a couple of clears over it to see what it does- how it looks..

Yeah, the upstairs get zero use now and it still is being renovated. No plans to do so for a while. Wanted something cool looking since I didn't stain them

And you forgot to prep them and prime them first right? Went straight to paint? You might as well put a second coat on to even out the color and sheen.

Good luck. What you don't want to do is heap layers on top at this point. You cannot fix adhesion from the top down with paint.

I don't have a good feeling about this look lasting for you without constant touch up. And yes, even a satin poly will destroy the suede look.
