Newbie here-

Husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first house and almost the entire interior is painted with this God awful color and it's high gloss (I am assuming latex) paint. The kicker is they just recently did this; I really wish they hadn't.
This house is pretty big and has the two story foyer entrance, so I know the task before us is not an easy one. The existing paint has a slight granuled textue to it, so as far as sanding goes....does liquid sanding work as well as regular sanding? Should we sand and use liquid sander before priming and painting?

Thanks is advance!

Do NOT assume ,make sure before proceeding. It sounds like they were in a hurry to cover up something and could have painted latex over oil( a bad thing).
Sanding is always better than liquid deglosser. As Nav said maybe all you need is a good bonding primer, but then again you may have a complete disaster on your hands( I have seen this many times)

Good luck:)
